About the Programme

The ONYX Academy 12-Week Programme is designed to give learners time, structure and support to grow in confidence, develop practical skills and explore future pathways.

Over 12 weeks, learners take part in supportive workshops, activities and guided reflection. The programme helps learners better understand themselves, recognise their strengths, build employability and life skills, and consider realistic next steps into work, training, education, enterprise, volunteering or further personal development.

This programme is practical, encouraging and focused on helping each learner move forward at their own pace.

Suggested 12-Week Journey

Weeks 1–2: Getting Started

Learners are introduced to the programme, begin building trust, explore personal goals and start identifying strengths, interests and areas for development.

Weeks 5–6: Life Skills & Personal Organisation

Learners develop practical skills such as planning, decision-making, responsibility, routine, problem-solving and independence.

Weeks 9–10: Enterprise & Future Pathways

Learners explore enterprise, business ideas, creativity, problem-solving and different pathways into work, training, education, volunteering or self-employment.

Weeks 3–4: Confidence & Self-Awareness

Learners focus on confidence, self-belief, communication, values and understanding what may be holding them back.

Weeks 7–8: Employability & Workplace Readiness

Learners explore workplace expectations, professional behaviours, CVs, applications, interviews and how to present themselves positively.

Weeks 11–12: Action Planning & Next Steps

Learners reflect on their progress, identify achievements and create a realistic next steps plan to help them move forward after the programme.
